Nate and Jeannine - Owners and Captains

Meet Jeannine and Nate (and Lucy!)

We’ve both had long careers in the tourism and guiding industry. From kayak guiding, running interpretive centres, grizzly bear viewing, and whale watching; small boats to big ships; Canada to Antarctica, we’ve been around! We’re so excited to create the company we’ve always wanted to work for - connecting our guests to nature, and creating authentic, memorable experiences while staying true to our personal ethics. We love this place and the wildlife that call it home, and we know you will too.

Jeannine

I grew up on the west coast of Vancouver Island in a small village and my family spent much of our free time out on the water. I still remember the first time I saw wild orcas as a young child - one of the calves swam under our sailboat and from that moment on, I was hooked! I completed a degree in Wildlife Biology in 2005 and worked in environmental education for many years before getting into guiding. I love sharing information about wildlife and have been known to give impromptu naturalist talks in bars and city streets! During the winter, I work as a certified guide (Polar Tourism Guides Association) and lecturer in Antarctica.

Nate

I have worked in wildlife tourism and the marine world for 14 years and counting all around the world. Some of my highlights have been here in my own backyard. I've sailed the whole west coast (up to Juneau), and I am so thankful to be able to call this place home. When not exploring my backyard, I work in Antarctica (and previously the Arctic, and other parts of the globe) as an Expedition Leader, or training the new generation of staff on board the ships. I've also been on board as photographer, which has been great fun, especially when world class photographers are your clients. It's been a life of learning, and continues to be. I love sharing these experiences with the wonderful people I've met throughout the years.
